The Dalemoor prefix was approved by FCI in August 2005.

The first dog my family had was a german shepherd, Gera, who came to us in 1990. Unfortunately she had HD and had to be put to sleep, only 2 years old.

In june 1999 our first sheltie, Shira, arrived. I went to shows and puppy- and obedience courses with her and she taught me alot about dogs and shelties.
Ayla came to us the day before christmas in 2001. We had her on breeding terms, so when her first litter was weaned, her breeder's part in her was transferred to me.
I bought my first whippet, Speedy, in july 2004. It was a very new experience for me to have a dog that went hibernating under blankets and pillows as soon as the temperature went below 15 degrees; the shelties are generally happy with a couple of minutes on your lap before it becomes too hot for them.

Ayla got 6 puppies in her first litter, 3 males and 3 females. She didn't grow as big the next time, when she was carrying Dalemoor's first litter. But it was 7 (5+2)! I kept one of the females, Arwen, on breedingterms.

Shira had some troubles conceiving. She was almost 7 years old before the first living litter arrived. 3 puppies (1+2). One of the females was born without a tail. She had to be put to sleep only 9 weeks old, as it turned out to be a kink in her spine, which disturbed the function in certain inner organs. I kept the other female, Betty, on breedingterms.

Speedy's first litter was interesting. She played mother for my first sheltie litter after a couple of weeks, at quite the young age herself. I had seen a picture of a whippet pregnant with 10 puppies, taken a few days before birth. She was huge. Comparing to that I was prepared for around 5 from Speedy. Birth starting at 1 am in the morning, she laid there waiting, differently from the shelties who dig and pant and can't seem to relax. I was thrilled when number 6 came, and I was sure it was the last one; I couldn't feel any more. Dozing off for 1,5 hour, I woke up from a 'birth moan' – another puppy! And an hour later number 8. I got 3 hours sleep before work, and I counted the puppies before i left and had to count them three times before I realized she had given birth to even another one while I slept. I kept the one female in the litter, Funky.

Ayla died in March 09 after an accident where she fell down from a cliff and broke her neck. She had to be put to sleep by the veterinarian.

Shira moved in with my grandmother when she started prefering human company rather than the other dogs. She was spoiled rotten for several years, but in april 2010 her liver started to fail. After 3 months on medicines it was clear there was no hope, and we had to say good bye for the last time.

Today the whippets Speedy and Funky live home with me.
